Request Data Deletion

What deletion means

Deleting your data means removing the personal and account information associated with you or your business from Mapo Media’s active systems, other than information we’re required to keep for a legitimate reason described below. This is separate from simply disconnecting a single integration (like a social media account), which you can do without deleting your whole account.

How to request deletion

Mapo Media doesn’t yet have a self-service “delete my account” button in the portal — a request today is handled directly by our team:

  1. Email info@mapo.media with the subject “Data Deletion Request” — the button above pre-fills this for you.
  2. Include the email address on your Mapo Media account (and, if applicable, which brand or integration it relates to) so we can verify the request.
  3. If you’re signed in, you can also reach us from Support, which routes to the same team.

Disconnecting an integration

If you only want to disconnect a connected account (for example, a social media account) rather than delete everything, you have two options:

  • Ask us to disconnect it via the deletion request method above, or through Support if you’re signed in.
  • Revoke Mapo Media’s access directly from the third-party platform’s own settings (for example, Facebook’s “Business Integrations” settings) — this works even if you can’t reach us right away.

Once Facebook/Instagram’s own OAuth-based connection flow is available in Mapo Media (see the Privacy Policy), you’ll also be able to disconnect it directly from the client portal.

What happens after a request

We verify the request is coming from the account holder (or an authorized contact for that business), then remove the applicable information from our active systems and ask any relevant service provider to do the same where applicable. We’ll confirm with you once it’s done.

We don’t currently have a verified, published turnaround time for completing a deletion request — we aim to handle requests promptly, but until a specific service-level timeframe is confirmed, we won’t publish one here rather than guess.

What we may need to retain

Even after a deletion request, we may need to retain limited information where we have a legitimate reason to, such as:

  • Billing, invoice, and transaction records needed for accounting, tax, or legal compliance
  • Records needed to resolve an open dispute, support request, or fraud/security investigation
  • Information we’re legally required to keep for a defined period

Anything retained for these reasons is kept only as long as necessary for that purpose, consistent with the Privacy Policy.
